So are IBM zEnterprise boxen-z/OS, Spec 1170 support, z/VM hosting thousands of Linux instances, built-in cryptographic support, new instructions to support Java-today’s IBM Mainframe ain’t like your father’s System/370.

Am torn between applauding the uptime and cringing at the kernel version.

Heh. Yes, there is that. Whatever they had it doing, it was not exposed to the wild web…
Since the buyout, I stick to Ubuntu on x86 & NetBSD on the rest.
I think I need to go play with Simh for awhile & perhaps see if I can get RDB to install in VMS…
